We started as a small team of 6 players. Founded by Aaron Kepa (Ex-Leader) in late April 2008 is then established officially in 1st May 2008 as a “Just For Fun” team. In June 2008, the team became competitive in gaming scenes and starts to recruit more players.
July 2008, the leadership was then passed to Desmond Chin (Current Club Manager). We proceeded on with recruitments and trainings until September 2008, we joined our first public tournament, the SMM DotA Tournament – State Qualifiers, Sarawak.
Through the year of 2008, we evolved from a small team into a large group. We soon found out that Gamers Republic is worth more than just a place for Gamers who represent and improve themselves. We built a community of gamers that consists of friends, supporters, connections around us.
In 2009, finally we achieved what we wanted from establishing Gamers Republic. A friendly comunity of friends and gamers who unite under One Name. Nevertheless, the gaming scenes improved and our competitors increased. Gamers Republic Gaming Team was then named Gamers Republic E-Sports Club, where we group among the best gamers we know to compete in tournaments to represent GR eSports.
Gamers Republic E-Sports Club is now a community for our friends and gamers to contribute, trying to bring GR eSports up high in gaming scenes. As Gamers, We Represent. As A Community, We Stand.
